“Last week I tried Haggis for the first time. This week, we went walking in the dark on the Ranges with torches. Next week I think we're making pizzas. The week after that? It could be anything!”
Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family, catering for boys & girls aged between 6 and 8. Our activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, learning how to be safe, trying new things and most importantly, making new friends and having fun.
In Scouting, we aim to offer challenge and adventure to all our members, and we know that this is can be different things for different people. For a Beaver this could be trying a new food, going on a walk, gaining their first badge or attending their first sleepover or camp.
Through the adventure of Scouting, our Beavers get to take risks in a safe environment and have their first taste of responsibility and adventure with experiences they’ll never forget. We believe in helping young people discover their potential by working in teams, learn by doing and thinking for themselves – all in a fun but safe way.
